Egypt: Protocol Signed to Establish Nuclear Power Technical School

A protocol was signed Thursday 09/07/2015 between the Technical Education and Training Ministry and Electricity Ministry to establish an advanced technical school in the field of peaceful nuclear power.

Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker said the school will start operating as of 2016/2017 academic year, noting that the first batch will graduate after five years.

The Minister added that this step comes as part of the ministry’s strategy to diversify power generation sources and start measures to establish the first power-generating nuclear plant in Dabaa city in Marsa Matrouh.

This protocol will provide cadres who are able to work in the field of peaceful nuclear power, Minister Shaker concluded.
