Egypt’s Railway Authority is negotiating with global technology giant Siemens to buy 50 new locomotives, according to a report.
The pact would also include repair works for 50 other locomotives that have been running since the 1970s, Trade Arabia reported on Thursday.
Egypt Railway Authority is in talks with global technology giant Siemens to buy 50 new locomotives, said Arab Finance Brokerage, citing a senior source.
The negotiations also include maintenance works for 50 of Siemens Henschel, a model that has been efficiently operating in Egypt since the 70s, it stated.
Last month, Egypt had anounced that it had received 20 new locomotives from GE Transportation, it added.
