Egypt receives $5 bln in expats’ remittances in 3 months since pound float

Remittances from Egyptian expats rose 19.7 percent to record $5 billion during the period from November 2016 until January 2017, the central bank announced Monday.

In January, the state saw a 23 percent rise in remittances to reach $1.6 billion, compared to $1.3 billion in the same month a year earlier.
