Egypt rises aid to Arab Journalists Federation to $118,6 per year

The Egyptian government has approved an increase in its financial support for the Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) from 250,000 pounds a year to 2 million pounds ($118,623) , the head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate announced on Friday.

Diaa Rashwan made the announcement in a speech to the general assembly of the FAJ in Cairo, adding that the disbursement would be made within a week.

Rashwan said the government has promised to provide a new headquarters for the federation in Cairo soon, adding that talks were held with the prime minister on the allocation of a permanent headquarters.
