Egypt seeks to develop industrial zones

Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi received a delegation from Polaris International Industrial Parks (PIIP), led by Chairman Tunç Özkan, to discuss potential cooperation in developing and managing industrial zones, the Egyptian Cabinet reported on Sunday.

The talks focused on establishing globally standardised industrial zones and innovative solutions to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by utilising underutilised land owned by public sector companies for industrial activities.

Shimi emphasised the importance of partnerships with industrial developers and international investors to enhance Egypt’s investment environment. He noted that the government is committed to improving the industrial investment climate and providing all necessary facilities for local and foreign investors.

The ministry aims to repurpose underutilised public sector land for industrial projects, supporting the country’s sustainable industrial development plans, boosting local production, and generating new job opportunities.
