Egypt plans 19 Logistic Centres to reduce Customs Clearing Time

Egypt will start launch of 19 logistics developer centres to ease customs clearance procedures, minister of finance announced on Saturday.  This move comes within the Egyptian finance ministry’s plans to control custom borders and fight against smuggling.

According to Egyptian Minister of Finance Hani Demian, the planned logistic centers would be constructed in two phases. The first phase will include 8 centers in ports of Cairo, Port Said, Al Sukhna, Alexandria, Damietta, Al- Dekhela, Adabiya, and customs pre-clearance.

The second phase would encompass 11 centers in ports of Eastern Company S.A.E., Aswan, Ismailia, Port Fuad, Nuweiba, Safaga, Sallum, Arish, Alexandria Airport, Amreya, and Al-Awja.
