Egypt sets up 2 logistics zones along Sudanese border

Egyptian General Authority for Land and Dry Ports, affiliated with the Transport Ministry announced the establishment of two logistic zones to address the truck congestion at the Argeen and Goustol land crossings with Sudan.

“Based on coordination between the Transport Ministry and Aswan province, two mini-logistics zones were implemented in Wadi Karkar and Abu Simbel city to process Egyptian vehicles heading to Sudan,” the authority said on August 25.

The authority also added that the overcrowding is also caused by the incompatibility in working hours, as Egyptian ports operate 24 hours a day, while the Sudanese counterparts only work 4-5 hours a day.
