Egypt Shares End Higher on Sunday, Main Index Crosses 7460

Egypt’s bourse ended sessions on Sunday higher with gains totaled 1.8 Egyptian pounds bolstered by local buying appetite. Accordingly, Egypt’s main bourse index crossed 7460 points Sunday afternoon.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices were wavering in green notes  Sunday afternoon.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 ended 0.47 per cent higher to 7461.07 pts; while EGX20 finished 0.25 per cent up to 8898.31 pts.     
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.37% to close at 613.43 pts. The price index EGX100 inched up by 1.21 per cent to conclude at 7048.99 pts.  
Furthermore, the market capitalization recorded EGP 460.243 billion on Sunday.

Turnovers 
Through the closing session of Sunday, the trading volume has reached 249.370 million securities, with turnovers worth EGP 807.248 million, exchanged through 38.764 thousand transactions.           
Also during the closing session, 182 listed securities have been traded in; 57 declined, 106 advanced; while 19 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians were net buyers capturing 82.57% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 8.223 million, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arabs and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 12.15% and 5.28% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 7.501 million and 722.654 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.

Companies’ Activities

At the EGX30, Cairo-based investment bank EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) saw its share price rise by 0.97 percent to EGP 11.48.

Market bellwether Commercial International Bank S.A.E. (COMI.CA) tumbled 0.24 percent to EGP 32.96.

In the real estate sector, Palm Hills Development Company (PHDC.CA) surged by 1.60 percent to trade at EGP 3.18, Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMGH.CA) increased by 0.56 percent to trade at EGP 7.20, and Sixth of October Development and Investment Co S.A.E – SODIC (OCDI.CA) climbed 2.09 percent to close at EGP 23.98.
