Egypt Shares End Week Higher, Gain EGP2 bln at Close

Egypt’s stocks ended this week higher posting gains of EGP 2.26 billion backed by local and Arab buyers. The main index closed higher to cross 5265 pts on Thursday.

The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in green notes during the closing session of Thursday.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 inched up by 0.80% to close at 5267.72 pts; while the EGX20 surged by 1% to end at 6122.45 p. 
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 pushed up by 1.36% to conclude at 441.49 p. The price index EGX100 climbed by 1.22% to finish at 746.9 p.

The capital market has closed at EGP 354.745 billion on Thursday.

Lower Traded Volumes & Trades
Through the closing session of Thursday, the trading volume has reached 59.200 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 230.534 million, exchanged through 14.646 thousand transactions.   

Also during the closing session, 162 listed securities have been traded in; 19 declined, 125 advanced; while 18 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 69.04% and 6.09% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 29.854 million and EGP 3.790 million, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 24.87% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 33.645 million, excluding the deals.
