Egypt Shares Gain EGP3 bln at Close, Celebrating Eid Al-Adha

Ahead of Eid Al-Adha vacation, Egypt Shares ended this week attaining remarkable gains of around EGP 3.1 billion bolstered by the foreign net buyers. The benchmark index maintained its upward trend to hit 5986 points on Sunday.

The Egyptian bourse announced that Eid Al-Adha Vacation will start on Monday 14/10/2013 until Thursday 17/10/2013. Business will be resumed on Sunday 20/10/2013.

The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering in green notes Sunday afternoon.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 ended 0.93 per cent higher to 5986.8 pts, and the EGX20 also 1.11 per cent up to 7057.49 pts.  
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.77 per cent to conclude at 503.54 pts. The price index EGX100 surged by 0.74 per cent to close at 850.09 pts. 
The capital market has closed at EGP 393.147 billion on Sunday.

Turnovers
Through the closing session of Sunday, the trading volume has reached 172.845 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 477.094 million, exchanged through 25.173 thousand transactions.    

Also during the closing session, 180 listed securities have been traded in; 36 declined, 122 advanced; while 22 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity
The non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net buyers bolstering EGX’s closing gains as they acquired 9.04% and 7.29% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 15.721 million and EGP 2.227 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Egyptians were net sellers seizing 83.66% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 17.948 million, excluding the deals.
