Egypt Shares Open Higher on Monday

Egyptian stocks opened higher on Monday posting gains of EGP 504 million bolstered by local and Arab net buyers. The main gauge rebounded early Monday to cross 6465 points.

The Benchmark EGX30 inched up by 0.47% to 6466.24 p; while EGX20 increased by 0.12% to 7522.2 p.

On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 rose by 0.02% to 535.07 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.07% to 894.36 p.

The capital market has reached EGP 414.679 billion on Monday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:00 a.m. Cairo time (09:00 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 8.700 million securities worth EGP 30.134 million, exchanged through 1230 transactions during Monday opening.

Also during the opening session, 86 listed securities have been traded in; 23 fell, 28 advanced; while 35 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers bolstering EGX’s early gains as they seized 78.64% and 7.18% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 954.279 thousand and EGP 685.841 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers acquiring 14.18% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 1.640 million, excluding the deals.
