Egypt Shares Open Slightly Higher, Gain EGP122 mln

Egyptian stocks have opened higher on Monday posting gains of EGP 122 million backed by local net buyers. The main gauge has hit 6777 points early Monday.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during opening.

The Benchmark EGX30 increased by 0.05% to 6777.72 p; while EGX20 also rose by 0.01% to 7881.96 p.

Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 went up by 0.10% to 541.17 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.11% to 921.6 p.

The capital market has hit on Monday opening EGP 425.673 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:03 a.m. Cairo time (09:03 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 4220 million securities worth EGP 8948 million, exchanged through 894 transactions during Monday opening.

Also during the opening session, 67 listed securities have been traded in; 7 fell, 28 advanced; while 32 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians were net buyers acquiring 94.88% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 635.431 thousand, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 1.53% and 3.58% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 115.332 thousand and EGP 520.099 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.
