Egypt Shares Post Humble Gains at Open, EGX 30 Solely Falls

Egyptian stocks have opened higher posting humble gains of EGP 43 million on Wednesday. The benchmark index solely went down on early Wednesday to fall below 6245 points.

The Benchmark EGX30 dropped by 0.01% to 6244.67 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.06% to 7304.71 p.

On the other hand, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.30% to 525 p.  Price index EGX100 went up by 0.21% to 876.88 p.

The capital market has reached EGP 408.760 billion on Wednesday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:01 a.m. Cairo time (09:01 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 20.152 million securities worth EGP 63.828 million, exchanged through 1.010 transactions during Wednesday opening.

Also during the opening session, 70 listed securities have been traded in; 11 fell, 24 advanced; while 35 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers seizing 22.21% and 75.5% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.527 million and EGP 276.918 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, Arabs were net buyers acquiring 2.28% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 1.804 million, excluding the deals.
