Egypt signs MoU with Kuwait Energy for capacity building programme: EGYPS

Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum has signed a MoU with Kuwait Energy Egypt to provide capacity buildings for operation safety and assets integration teams, on the side-lines of Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2023) in Cairo.

The agreement was signed by the Ministry’s undersecretary of Technical office, Alaa Hagar with the chief of Kuwait Energy Egypt, Kamel al-Sawi, in the presence of Tarek al-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Kuwait Energy’s CEO, Song Yu.

The MoU is a part of Kuwait Energy Egypt’s sustainability and development strategy in Egypt, which has a strong focus on capacity building in energy efficiency and transition.

It also supports the sector’s modernisation programme which is designed by Minister of Petroleum al-Molla to integrate the transformative program for Egypt’s oil and gas sector.

al-Sawi said “it is with great honour and pleasure to continue the strategic partnership with the Ministry of Petroleum through this key development programme in the third edition.

He praised the Egyptian petroleum sector as it is a pioneer in adopting the capacity building initiatives which aims to develop the sector.

The programme aims to enhance the technical and executive competence of workforce in the middle management at production sites after passing technical and conducting assessments.

In accordance with the latest international practices to reach the best elements capable of assuming the responsibility of managing operations safety.

Kuwait Energy Egypt and the Ministry of petroleum have a shared vision continuous effort to ensure equipping the sector’s cadres with the necessary capabilities.

Noteworthy, the agreement came as a continuation of the successful modernisation capacity building programme of Emerging Leaders that was implemented back in 2019.
