Egypt stock market rises 0.32 %, attains $94mn gains

Egyptian stock market finished Wednesday with humble gains estimated at 733 million Egyptian pounds (US$93.6 million)  on local buying appetite.

The market capitalisation recorded 422.049 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 rose by 0.32 percent to 6629.32 points.

EGX50 EWI index increased by  0.72 percent to 1136.34 points.

EGX20 jumped 0.47 percent to 6573.78 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 surged 1.15 percent to 364.69 points. The price index, EGX100 edged up 0.43 percent to 765.03 points.

Turnovers low

On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume hit 177.825 million securities, with turnovers closed at 536.684 million pounds, exchanged through 18,524  thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 164 listed securities have been traded in; 38 declined,80 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

The Egyptian investors were net buyers seizing 77.4 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 61.055 million pounds, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arab and non-Arab investors were net sellers on Wednesday getting 6.03 percent and 16.57 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 2.488 million pounds and 58.566 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
