Egypt Stocks grew ahead of Holy Month Ramadan

Bourse gained Wednesday 1.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$209.8 million) ahead of the Muslims’ Holy Month of Ramadan.

The market capitalisation has recorded 488.733 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Indices

The benchmark index, EGX30 rose by 0.01 percent to 8556.55 points. EGX20 also grew by 0.34 percent to 8752.03 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 inched up by 0.39 percent to 454.11 points.

The price index, EGX100 increased by 0.22 percent to 954.16 points.

Humble Turnovers

On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 108.072 million securities, with turnovers closed at 420.427 million pounds, exchanged through 14.337 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 162 listed securities have been traded in; 36 declined, 83 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local investors were net buyers on Wednesday capturing 62.66% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 42.546 million, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arab and non-Arab investors were net sellers seizing 13.65% and 23.7% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 33.794 million and EGP 8.752 million, respectively, excluding the deals.
