Egypt Stocks post US$843m Gains, Indices rise

Egyptian Exchange closed higher on Monday with gains worth 6.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$842.9 million).

The market capitalization has recorded 490.201 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 boosted by 0.22 percent to 8028.69 points.

Newly-launched EGX50 EWI index grow by 0.46 percent to 1430.32 points.

EGX20 rose by 0.37 percent to 8038.15 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 hiked by 1.05 percent to 451.43 points. The price index, EGX100 jumped by 0.48 percent to 936.19 points.

Turnovers up

On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 137,154 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 685,679 million, exchanged through 17,553 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 170 listed securities have been traded in; 38 declined, 89 advanced; while 39 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers on Sunday seizing 79.91% and 5.12% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 2,585 million and EGP 2.029 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, foreign investors were net sellers getting 14.96% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 4.614 million, excluding the deals.
