Cairo stocks rebound on Wednesday

Egypt’s stock market rebound Wednesday posting humble gains worth 116 million Egyptian pounds (US$14.4 million). Benchmark index, EGX30 rose 0.23 percent to 7450.36 points.

Market capitalisation hit 448.693 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Indices

EGX50 EWI index went up 0.11 percent to 1251.6 points.

EGX20 increased 0.35 percent to 7172.38 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 grew 0.47 percent to 391.29 points. The price index, EGX100 edged up 0.15 percent to 844.08 points.

Modest Turnovers

On Wednesday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 208.241 million securities, with turnovers closed at 782.887 million, exchanged through 14,208 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 167 listed securities have been traded in; 51 declined, 45 advanced; while 66 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and non-Arab investors were net buyers Wednesday getting 88.21 percent and 7.79 percent, respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 789,869 pounds and 15.621 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arab investors were net sellers seizing 4 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 16.411 million pounds, excluding the deals.
