Egypt Stocks record mild Losses on Monday

Egypt’s stock market ended slightly lower on Monday incurring losses worth 147 million Egyptian pounds (US$19.3 million) amid local and Arab investors’ selloffs.

The market capitalization has recorded 499.285 billion pounds during the closing session of Monday.

Indices:

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 remained with no change at 8691.85 points. EGX20 dropped by 0.41 percent to 9056.07 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 fell by 0.25 percent to 468.97 points. The price index, EGX100 declined by 0.36 percent to 965.07 points.

Turnovers remain Humble
On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 122.989 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 431.018 million, exchanged through 17.129 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 179 listed securities have been traded in; 89 declined, 42 advanced; while 47 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net sellers on Monday seizing 70.49% and 9.36% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.107 million and EGP 25.578 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers acquiring 20.15% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 26.685 million, excluding the deals.
