Egypt Stocks remain Bearish on Tuesday

Egypt’s stock market shares continued their bearish negative trend on Tuesday incurring losses worth 6.5 billion Egyptian pounds (US$852.1 million).

The country’s main stock index, EGX30 further retreated below 9435 points.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Egyptian Exchange’s indices were also wavering on red notes during the closing session of Tuesday.

Indices:

The EGX30 inched down by 1.59 percent to close at 9433.85 points. EGX20 plummeted by 1.90 percent to 10380.4 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dove by 2.66% to 569.91 points. The price index, EGX100 sagged by 2.02% to 1132.45 points.

Turnovers below EGP1 billion
Throughout the closing session of Tuesday, the trading volume has reached 181.456 million securities, with turnovers climbed to EGP 751.220 million, exchanged through 25.721 thousand transactions.                       
Also during the closing session, 185 listed securities have been traded in; 150 declined, 15 advanced; while 17 kept their previous levels.
Furthermore, the market capitalization recorded EGP 517.160 billion on Tuesday.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net sellers on Tuesday seizing 80.72% and 4.27% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 30.725 million and EGP 7.606 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab foreign were net buyers capturing 15.01% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 38.331 million, excluding the deals.
