Egypt: Stocks turn Mixed on Monday

Egypt stocks closed in mixed notes on Monday in which market capitalisation incurred losses worth 380 million Egyptian pounds (US$49.8 million).

Indices:

The benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 0.21 percent to close at 9374.12 points. EGX20 rose by 0.30 percent to 10100.27 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dropped by 0.20 percent to 527.15 points. The price index, EGX100 fell by 0.10 percent to 1077.15 points.

Turnovers
On Monday, the trading volume has reached 108.844 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 645.209 million, exchanged through 18.658 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 173 listed securities have been traded in; 66 declined, 67 advanced; while 34 kept their previous levels.

The market capitalization recorded EGP 514.395 billion on Monday.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net sellers on Monday seizing 73.59% and 10.82% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 24.088 million and EGP 40.886 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, the non-Arab foreign investors were net buyers capturing 15.59% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 64.975 million, excluding the deals.
