Egypt to establish 6 complexes for gold extraction in Eastern Desert

Egypt is set to establish six complexes for gold extraction in the Eastern Desert, Ashraq business reported on Sunday.

The Shalateen Mineral Resources firm is going to establish the six complexes to help companies and individuals in increasing the productivity of the quantities of gold supplied to the government.

The first complex will be built near Aswan on an area of six million sqm with an investment of 250 million Egyptian pounds.

The second will be built near the Red Sea governorate of Marsa Alam, southeast of Cairo.

During the period from January to April 2023, Shalateen Mineral Resources delivered about 240 kilogram of gold to the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
