Egypt to open its largest dates factory in H2 – minister
Egypt is set to inaugurate the biggest dates factory in New Valley governorate, 733km (455.9 miles) of Cairo, within the second half of this year, said Trade Minister Amr Nassar on Tuesday.
The new factory will be opened in cooperation with UAE’s Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, the minister added.
Nassar made these remarks during a meeting with the company’s secretary-general Abdul Wahab Zayed, accompanied by a high-level delegation.
Hanan El-Hadary, chairman of Egyptian Industrial Council for Technology and Innovation (ICTI), and Amgad El-Kady, executive director of the Food and Agro Industries Technology Center (FAITC), have attended the meeting. ICTI and FAITC are an affiliate to the Industry and Trade Ministry.
“Egypt seeks to establish cooler refrigerators in Bahariya Oasis within the next period, at a capacity of 4,000 tonnes,” the Egyptian Minister said. Bahariya Oasis is about 135km (83 miles) southwest of Cairo.
