The sources added the new project is a pivotal step within the framework of the government’s strategy to expand clean energy and green hydrogen projects.

Sources pointed out that during COP27, the government will activate memorandums of understanding that had signed for production and export of green hydrogen field and operate these projects to exploit their production and export abroad.

During the round table entitled Innovative Financing Climate and Development, the Prime Minister said that Egypt has capacity to generate 400 gigawatts of new and renewable energy sources.

Egypt can export this energy to countries all over the world, but the main obstacle remains the provision of funding for those projects, which will contribute to achieving the mitigation goals and saving the planet from the devastating effects of climate change, he added.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly has praised the cooperation with Belgian companies in the field of clean energy and green hydrogen, during his meeting with the Belgian Prime Minister on Monday evening.

Madbouly stressed that the government’s desire to redouble this cooperation and facilitate the implementation of all Belgian companies’ projects in Egypt.
