Egypt To Partake In Investment In Kuwait On Wednesday

A high-level Egyptian delegation grouping Planning Minister Ashraf el-Arabi and Investment Minister Osama Saleh arrived in Kuwait Tuesday 10/12/2013 on a few days’ visit to attend Arab investment talks.

The ministers will represent Egypt at the “Arab Investment Meeting (AIM): Investment Attractiveness Gap” organized by the Arab Planning Institute (API) in cooperation with the Arab Investment & Export Credit Guarantee Corporation and Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority under the patronage of Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah during the period 11-12 December.

AIM aims to address many issues and achieve a number of objectives, including: exchange of lessons learnt from Arab experiences in promoting and attracting foreign investment, explore the reality of foreign and intraregional investment in Arab countries, identify the most important impediments to investment in Arab countries at the planning, legislative and institutional levels, determine practical ways to address the shortcomings of the investment climate in the Arab region, reformulate the investment policies in Arab countries to become more streamlined with the overall development strategies and plans and encourage transforming investment opportunities in the Arab countries into viable mutually beneficial partnerships projects.

The Egyptian delegation was welcomed at the airport by Egypt’s Ambassador here Abdel-Karim Suliman who said that the Egyptian side will visit Kuwait’s chamber of commerce and industry and hold cooperation talks with Kuwaiti officials on the sidelines of AIM.
