Egypt’s General Authority for Supply and Commodities (GASC) signed contracts on Tuesday to import 350,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia and Romania.
Upon an international bid held earlier in the day, Egypt will import 290,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia and 60,000 tonnes from Romania, GASC deputy head Ahmed Youssef said in a statement.
It will be shipped to Egypt from October 11 to 20, he added.
