Egypt and the UAE seek to bolster mutual cooperation to overcome regional challenges and crises, the Egyptian foreign ministry said Saturday.
The remarks came during a meeting Saturday between Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry- on a visit to the Gulf country- and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shoukry said that Egypt is looking forward to boosting ties and coordination with the UAE in order to confront instability and challenges to security in the Arab world.
Al Nahyan affirmed the UAE’s full solidarity with Egypt to face current challenges.
Both sides emphasised the need to boost consultation and coordinate positions on political solutions to crises in the Arab world, as well as combating terrorism and extremism.
Earlier Saturday, the duo agreed to establish a bilateral political consultation mechanism with meetings planned to be held every six months.
