Egypt, Yemen explore investment opportunities in mining, energy sectors

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawy met with his Yemeni counterpart, Saeed Suleiman Al-Shamasi to explore investment opportunities in petroleum and mining, according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum on Wednesday.

On the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025), both ministers agreed to establish a joint working group to identify areas for collaboration and future projects.

Minister Badawy reaffirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Yemen in the oil, natural gas, and mining sectors, leveraging its expertise to create economic benefits for both countries.

Minister Al-Shamasi highlighted Yemen’s interest in partnering with Egyptian petroleum companies and developing mining sector collaborations, citing the abundant mineral resources and strategic Red Sea ports shared by both nations.
