Egyptian athletes won gold and silver middle at Cape Kino Classic

The Egyptian national athletics champion, Ehab Abdel Rahman won the gold medal in the javelin throwing competition at the Cape Kino Classic in Nairobi, in the gold round of world athletics in Kenya.

Abdelrahman possessed his season’s best of 83.79m from his first throw to win on his debut at the Kip Keino Classic.

In the third place came Johan Grobler from South Africa with a throw of 79.11m.

Abdel Rahman participated in the Tokyo Olympics last summer, but he ranked eighth and did not manage to qualify for the final in the javelin throw competitions.

At the same time, the champion of the athletics team, Basant Hemida won the silver medal at the Cape Kino Classic Athletics Meeting in the gold round in Nairobi, Kenya. She scored 100m sprint with a new Egyptian high score of 11.02 seconds.

Hamida prevented from participating in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics due to her injury.

The head of the Egyptian Athletic Federation, Seif Shaheen welcomed the athletes at Cairo Airport, posted on the Egyptian Athletic Federation page on Facebook.
