Egyptian Businessmen Council Delegation To Visit Bangkok Oct 14

Ali El Korey, the Chairman of Thai-Egyptian Business Council, will lead the Egyptian delegation which will include a number of council board members as well as businessmen to visit Thailand. The delegation plans to sign a cooperation protocol with Thailand on October 14th.

Ali El Korey told Amwal Al Ghad that the Council is currently preparing a list of the names of the businessmen who will join the trade delegation to Thailand.

An exhibition will be made on the sidelines of signing the protocol between the Egyptian and Thai businessmen councils, El Korey added.

El Korey asserted that the Council seeks to boost the volume of the Egyptian exports to Thailand and to attract further Thai investments to the Egyptian Market. The Egyptian delegation will also discuss the investment challenges, reassure the Thai investors and increase the inbound Thai tourism to Egypt.

He noted that China is the strongest rival for Egypt regarding investing in the Thai market. This is due to the fact that China is geographically nearer to Thailand besides the China provides more competitive prices for its commodities than Egypt.

Worth mentioning, the trade exchange volume between Egypt and Thailand has reached $600 million by the end of 2011 including 550 Thai commodities exported to Egypt and Egypt’s exports worth $50 million to the Thai markets.
