Egyptian Exchange Early Gains Hit EGP 807 Mln, OTMT 9.66% Up

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) posted early gains on Thursday of EGP 807 million the capital market has reached EGP 335.911 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad as of 09:06 GMT (11:06 local time).

The main index, EGX30 went up 0.41% to hit 4647.22 p.  EGX20 edged up 1.47% to reach 5404.26  p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched lower 0.02% to hit 417.79 p. Price index EGX100 surged 0.62% to reach 720.89 p.

Traded volume reached 4.945 million securities worth EGP 33.331 million, exchanged through 795 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 67 listed securities; 34 declined and 19 advanced while 14 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs  were net buyers seizing 24.56% and 34.58% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.482 million and EGP 22.284 million excluding the deals

Non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 40.86% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 25.766 million excluding the deals.

Leading Shares

EGX’s leading shares witnessed unsteady performance as the shares of Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) jumped 9.66% to hit EGP 1.59.

Shares of Commercial International Bank- Egypt (CIB) (COMI.CA) witnessed no change to hit the same level of EGP 25.79.

On the other hand, the shares owned by Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) edged down 0.84% to reach EGP 243.00. Shares of Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) went down 0.33% to hit EGP 3.00. Shares of EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) inched lower 0.30% to hit EGP 10.09.
