Egyptian Exchange Gains EGP 3 Bln Backed By Leading Shares; Midday

On Monday’s midday session, the EGX posted gains of EGP 2.9 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 347.163 billion at 10:52 GMT (12:52 pm in Cairo).

The main index, EGX30 edged up 1.49% to hit 4863.48 p. EGX20 inched higher 1.63% to reach 5603.55 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 surged 0.84% to hit 418.68 p. Price index EGX100 went up 0.81% to reach 767.64 p.

Traded volume reached 31.811 million securities worth EGP 111.011 million, exchanged through 7.378 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 142 listed securities; 24 declined and 102 advanced while 16 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 58.74% and 16.1% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 14.481 million and EGP 12.024 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 25.15% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 26.506 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) which soared 2.97% to hit EGP 3.12. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged up 2.29% to reach EGP 1.34. Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) increased 2.20% to reach EGP 25.60. Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched higher 1.44% to hit EGP 272.   EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) also upped 1.08% to hit EGP 11.25.
