Egyptian Exchange Gains EGP 3.4 Bln On Monday Closing

On Monday’s closing session, the EGX posted gains of EGP 3.4 billion as the capital market has amounted to EGP 347.707 billion.

The main index, EGX30 went up 1.80% to close at 4878.37 p. EGX20 inched higher 1.95% to close at 5620.9 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up 1.39% to close at 421 p. Price index EGX100 went up 1.12% to close at 769.99 p.

Traded volume reached 75.054 million securities worth EGP 290.530 million, exchanged through 17.293 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 172 listed securities; 29 declined and 135 advanced while 8 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 57.07% and 19% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 20.673 million and EGP 45.633 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 23.93% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 66.306 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective upwards led by Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) which jumped 3.15% to finish at EGP 25.84. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) edged up 3.05% to close at EGP 1.35. Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) soared 2.64% to conclude at EGP 3.11.

Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) inched higher 1.30% to end at EGP 271.62.   EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) also climbed 1.17% to conclude at EGP 11.26.
