Egyptian Exchange records Gains worth US$332 million

Egypt’s stocks closed higher on Tuesday with gains worth 2.6 billion Egyptian pounds (US$332 million).

The market capitalization has reached 488.081 billion pounds during the closing session of Tuesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 0.79 percent to 7949.89 points.

EGX20 went up by 0.81 percent to 7933.35 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 jumped by 1.61 percent to 447.17 points. The price index, EGX100 edged up by 0.46 percent to 914.54 points.

Turnovers

On Tuesday, the stock’s trading volume has hit 219.137 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 858.865 million, exchanged through 23.731 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 169 listed securities have been traded in; 26 declined, 113 advanced; while 24 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers on Tuesday capturing 88.47% and 3.87% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 9.329 million and EGP 5.221 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the foreign investors were net buyers getting 7.66% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 14.550 million, excluding the deals.
