Egyptian Red Crescent Sends EGP 500,000 Aid To Syrian Refugees

Dr. Nagwa Khalil, Minister of Insurance and Social Affairs and Chairman of Egyptian Red Crescent, allocated EGP 500,000 to help the Syrian refugees in Egypt, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon.

The Minister affirmed the important role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in aiding the Palestinians in Gaza and other countries as the Egyptian Red Crescent sent EGP 750,000 to Somali and EGP 400,000 to Sierra Leone and Niger. The Red Crescent and Islamic Development Bank also sent aids to the Libyan people.

Khalil noted that the annual catastrophe management conference will be held at the Youth Camp of the Red Cross in Abordes, South Sinai.

She reviewed the activities done in the last period as 150 youths were trained on rapid intervention during emergencies in Egypt. The Egyptian Red Crescent has also played an important role in helping the trapped on the Egyptian-Libyan border.
