Egyptian stocks end up with $48 million-gains

Egyptian bourse concluded Monday with humble gains estimated at 373 million Egyptian pounds (US$47.6 million) on Arab and foreigners buying appetite.

The market capitalisation reached 422.718 billion during the closing session of Monday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased by 0.81 percent to 6762.26 points.

The EGX50 EWI index went higher by 0.34 percent to 1148.62 points.

EGX20 hiked 0.90 percent to 6755.12  points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 declined by 0.02 percent to 366.29 points. The price index, EGX100 declined by 0.85 percent to 756.57 points.

Turnovers low

On Monday, the bourse’s trading volume has reached 333.686 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 552.541 million, exchanged through 20,261 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 172 listed securities have been traded in; 52 declined, 78 advanced; while 37 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and foreign investors were net buyers on Monday getting 11.44% and 8.22% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 10.499 million pounds and 13.729 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the Egyptian investors were net sellers seizing 80.34% of the total market, with a net equity of 24.228 million pounds, excluding the deals.
