Egyptian stocks finish 1.07% up with $191mn-gains

Egyptian stock market concluded higher with gains estimated at 1.7 billion Egyptian pounds (US$191.5 million) on local buying appetite.

The market capitalisation hit 409.172 billion pounds during the closing session of Tuesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 increased 1.07 percent to 7657.98 points.

The EGX50 EWI index jumped by 0.48 percent to 1440.74 points.

EGX20 hiked by 1.08 percent to 8268.83 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 solely dropped by 0.19 percent to 366.25 points. The price index, EGX100 boosted by 0.29 percent to 789.35 points.

Turnovers down

On Tuesday, the bourse’s trading volume has recorded 365.709 million securities, with turnovers closed at 1.293 billion pounds, exchanged through 33,791 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 182 listed securities have been traded in; 69 declined, 68 advanced; while 41 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers on Tuesday getting 11.82 % and 10.32% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 2.071 million pounds and 12.329 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, local investors were net buyers capturing 77.86 % of the total market, with a net equity of 14.401 million pounds, excluding the deals.
