Egyptian, US women share similar challenges – Sidereas

The Egyptian and US women are facing similar societal challenges, said Evyenia Sidereas, Deputy Head of Mission at the US Embassy in Egypt, during a panel discussion on the first day of the Egyptian Women’s Summit.

Among these challenges, Sidereas said women were witnessing challenges at family support, raising kids, contributing to the economy levels.

The US official emphasised the importance of providing opportunities for women to make more vital roles socially and economically.

Sidereas pointed out to the role played by US institutions in providing various assistance programmes across the country in order to achieve the targeted sustainable development goals.

The Egyptian Women’s Summit is taking place on March 3-4, and organised by the Top 50 Women Forum in partnership with the National Council for Women (NCW) and the European Union (EU).

Dina Abdel Fattah, President of the Top 50 Forum, launched the first exhibition for university graduate girls and young children, coinciding with the International Women’s Month and the Egyptian Women’s Day.
