Egypt’s annual core CPI inflation hits 14.9% in August – CBE

Egypt’s annual core inflation rate recorded 14.9 per cent in August from 14.7 per cent in July, data from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed on Thursday, indicating a modest pickup in underlying price pressures.

On a monthly basis, core consumer prices reached 0.3 per cent in August 2026, compared to 0.0 per cent in July 2026 and 0.1 per cent in August 2025.

The core CPI excludes volatile items, including food and regulated prices.
