Egypt’s AOI, Spain’s COLWAY discuss developing railways

Egypt’s Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) held talks with a subsidiary company of the Spanish COLWAY group, which specialises in the design, engineering, manufacture, supply, installation, and commissioning of turnkey railway vehicle interiors.

AOI CEO Abdel-Moniem El-Tarras stressed during his talks with the company’s visiting delegation his keenness on drawing on international expertise to develop the railway sector, noting President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directions to accelerate efforts to upgrade the rail service while keeping in line with the most advanced technologies in the field.

Talks between the two sides covered boosting cooperation, know-how transfer and joint manufacturing.

El-Tarras underlined the interest of the Egyptian leadership in increasing cooperation with a friendly country like Spain and highlighted the investment-friendly climate that Egypt enjoys.

The COLWAY delegation praised the AOI’s plan to increase the percentage of the local component in all Egyptian industries and the organisation’s contribution to numerous development projects at home and in many Arab and African countries.
