Egypt’s AOI targets 20% export growth in 2027, plans 6 international partnerships

Egypt’s Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) is targeting 20 per cent export growth and plans to establish six partnerships with international original equipment manufacturers in 2027, Chairman Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abu Bakr said during Egypt Forum 2026.

The AOI operates 14 factories and companies with a workforce of around 12,000 employees. Its strategy includes allocating 5 per cent of revenue to scientific research and development and supporting youth-led projects and innovations.

Abu Bakr outlined the organisation’s vision of becoming an industrial integration platform that combines the manufacturing capabilities of Egypt’s industrial sectors with private-sector expertise, foreign investment and international partnerships to strengthen industrial competitiveness.

He also highlighted the importance of translating scientific research into practical industrial applications, noting that the AOI has supported four youth innovation models and startup projects in areas including smart agricultural and water systems, artificial intelligence for medical equipment and hospitals, smart classrooms, interactive devices and smart city technologies.

The AOI is showcasing its efforts to localise advanced manufacturing technologies, meet industrial sectors’ needs in line with international quality standards and open new export markets in Arab and friendly countries, supporting Egypt Vision 2030.
