Egypt’s Arab Contractors to sign $150 mln Ugandan road deals in 6 months

Egypt’s state-run construction firms Arab Contractors will sign final contracts to execute two road projects in Uganda within the next six months, an official in the company’s African Sector said Thursday.

The official further told Amwal Al Ghad that the two projects would cost a total of $150 million.

The 110-km length projects include some industrial works, he stated, adding that the flagships aim to link between a number of cities in Uganda and facilitate transport operations there.

“We plan to complete the road projects in 36 months,” he noted.

AC captures the lion’s share of works in 14 African states to currently stand at around $700 million. The company’s African businesses are mainly involving road and infrastructure projects.

“The company has started negotiating with some governmental entities in Uganda in order to implement two hospitals, at a cost totalling about $32 million,” the source referred.
