Egypt’s Atef Helmy Tasked to Oversee Administrative Development Ministry

Senior sources in the Ministry of State for Administrative Development and Egyptian Telecom Ministry asserted that Eng. Ibrahim Mehlab the new current Prime Minister met Eng. Atef Helmy, the Egyptian Telecom Minister and tasked him to oversee Administrative Development portfolio.

The sources said this commissioned doesn’t include limited period for Helmy to take over the Ministry, noting that the current period needs cooperation from the two ministries to complete the databases of the voters.

The sources added that the commissioning came after sending a delegation from the Administrative Development to Cabinet to identify the Ministry’s position and the subordination of the local development stressing the refusal of administrative development staff to merge the two ministries.

Prime’s media adviser, Sherif Shawky has previously asserted that the local and administrative development ministries have not merged yet, but the minister Adel Labib, will take over two bags ministries without merging before Helmy commissioned to oversee the administrative development temporarily.
