Egypt’s athlete Basma Emad wins bronze in weightlifting in Mediterranean Games

Basma Emad Ibrahim, a female athlete at the Egyptian national weightlifting team, has won the third place and the bronze medal in the Mediterranean Games on Saturday.

The Mediterranean Games is hosted by the Algerian city of Oran and is taking place until July 5th.

Emad has succeeded in lifting 113 kg in the women’s 59 kg Jerk competition, to win third place.

Basma got the fifth in the Clean competition after lifting 88 kg.

The Egyptian mission has successfully won 32 more medals in various sports, including 7 gold, 10 silver and 15 bronze.

Egypt’s participation includes 177 players in the tournament. They are divided to 114 males and 63 females in 19 sports. These sports are weightlifting, athletics, boxing, fencing, karate, shooting, tennis, table tennis, taekwondo, judo, bow and arrow, wrestling, equestrian, sailing, handball, basketball, badminton, and gymnastics.
