Egypt’s Banque du Caire pre-tax profit jumps 20% in 2021

Banque du Caire (BdC), Egypt’s third largest public state-lender, reported on Wednesday a 20 percent year-on-year growth in profit before tax for 2021.

Pre-tax profit recorded 5.8 billion Egyptian pounds ($315.7 million) in 2021, the bank’s financial statements showed.

Net profit also rose 15 percent year-on-year to 3.6 billion pounds in 2021 from 3.2 billion pounds in 2020.

Customers’ deposits jumped 22 percent year-on-year to 198.3 billion pounds at the end of 2021 from 162.8 billion pounds at the end of 2020.
