Cairo bourse slightly higher Wednesday with gains worth $126.5mn

Egypt’s bourse concluded slightly higher on Wednesday to earned gains worth 1.123 billion Egyptian pounds ($126.5 million) on Arab and Foreign buying appetites.

Indices

Main index jumped 1.15 percent, to 7637.04 points,

Other indices; EGX50 EWI index popped up 0.47  percent, to 1401.77  points; while EGX20 gained 1.75 percent, to 7676.16  points.

Mid- and small-cap index EGX70 declined 0.82 percent, to 367.28 points. Price index, EGX100 slumped 0.49 percent, to 776.85 points.

Market Caps

Market capitalisation recorded 405.194 billion pounds during the closing session of Wednesday.

Turnovers higher

The bourse’s trading volume hit 220.534 million securities, with turnovers, closing at 1.436 billion pounds, exchanged through 23,028 transactions.

Also during the closing session, 172 listed securities have been traded in, 74 declined, 49 advanced; while 44 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local investors were net sellers capturing 79.83 percent of the total market, with a net equity of 309.253 million pounds, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Arab and foreign investors were net buyers controlling 2.4 percent and 17.78 percent respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 14.104 million pounds and 295.149 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.
