Egypt’s c.bank Hosts Yemeni delegation to share expertise in digital payment systems

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) hosted on Thursday a delegation from the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) to share its expertise in digital payment systems and financial services. The move is part of Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Arab nations.

The visit, which included a specialised technical team from CBY, provided an in-depth look at Egypt’s pioneering experience in digital payment solutions, real-time gross settlement systems (RTGS), and financial transaction security. The delegation also explored the technical and operational aspects of Egypt’s payment infrastructure, as well as CBE’s role in implementing international standards and managing SWIFT system operations.

The CBY’s visit is part of ongoing bilateral cooperation aimed at supporting Yemen in developing and modernising its financial sector. By exchanging expertise and providing training, Egypt seeks to help enhance Yemen’s technical and economic capabilities in payment systems and digital financial services.

Both sides agreed to expand collaboration frameworks, continue sharing expertise, and work on building Yemen’s national capacities to strengthen digital payment solutions and enhance official financial transactions. The visit underscores Egypt’s role as a regional leader in fintech and financial infrastructure, committed to supporting Arab countries in their digital transformation efforts.
