Egypt’s Cabinet approved the establishment of a $15 million ready-made garments factory under the private free zone scheme on Thursday, as the government seeks to expand export-oriented manufacturing and create jobs.
The project, to be developed by Karnak Textile Garments LLC, will be built on a 31,535-square-metre site within the CPC Industrial Complex in Sadat City, Monufia Governorate, according to a Cabinet statement.
Commercial production is scheduled to begin in May 2027.
The factory is expected to create 3,500 jobs and source at least 50 per cent of its production inputs locally, supporting efforts to strengthen domestic industrial supply chains.
The company plans to export 100 per cent of its output to the European Union and the United States through Egypt’s private free zone framework.
