Egypt’s central bank warns of InstaPay scams targeting users

The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) on Thursday warned users of InstaPay, the country’s instant payments platform, about scammers impersonating its staff and trying to steal their personal and financial data.

Fraudsters have been making phone calls while posing as InstaPay employees and sending fake links designed to trick users into clicking on them, the CBE said.

“Beware of scammers using InstaPay’s name to deceive you over phone calls, pretending they are InstaPay staff. They may send fake links to trick you into clicking, stealing your data and money. #TogetherAgainstFraud”
