Egypt’s El-Khatib discusses energy investments with Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas
Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, met with a delegation from Spain’s Técnicas Reunidas to discuss investment opportunities in Egypt’s energy sector. The talks, held during El-Khatib’s visit to Spain, covered the company’s activities and proposed future projects in the country.
El-Khatib highlighted Egypt’s diverse investment prospects in energy. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting Tecnicas Reunidas’ expansion in the market. The company aims to invest in manufacturing boilers for the petroleum sector and has requested a berth at an Egyptian port under the free zone system to assemble stations for the petroleum, petrochemical, electricity, and energy industries.
The meeting also reviewed the company’s investment plans in green energy, hydrogen, and green ammonia. Tecnicas Reunidas representatives outlined their expertise in designing and constructing power generation plants, petrochemical facilities, and natural gas processing units, emphasising their focus on hydrogen production technologies and biofuels.
